Great Park Neighborhoods is excited to have hosted Garden Week, a full week dedicated to garden and food sustainability that is fun and resourceful for the whole family! Learn how to grow your own herbs, compost, and harvest from the comfort of your own home! Everyday this week, we explored new tips and tricks for a great gardening experience! We are starting off with seeding. All plants come from seeds, each requiring different care, including sunshine, food, water and oxygen. Join us in a Seeding Tutorial full of tips and tricks you can use to plant seeds and watch them grow!

Learn how to make and use compost in your own backyard using items and scraps you already have! This nutrient-rich substance has many benefits and can be applied to your garden in numerous ways! We’ve all seen or experienced produce going to waste from our refrigerators and wished they had stayed fresh. Here are some tips and tricks on how to store your food properly for maximum benefits!

With our Certified Nursery and Agricultural Professional, Kathie Wickham, watch a herb garden demonstration planted recorded live via Zoom, learn basic growing tips, gain knowledge about each herb variety planted, and different ways to harvest and preserve your herbs for future use. All you need is a planter, soil, 3 different herb plants, plant tags, fertilizer, and follow the instructional video.
