With that, we are proud to announce The Compost Club! Interested residents can join an interactive, hands on initiative to combat food waste and climate change here in your local community.

Why compost? Households that compost their kitchen scraps on average reduce their footprint by 30%. Every year, U.S landfills and incinerators receive about 167 million tons of garbage. With 50% of that waste being compostable items! A common misconception is that food decomposes when it enters the landfill. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Instead, organic waste anaerobically decomposes inside of plastic trash bags releasing methane gas. The fight against climate change starts with small changes to your everyday life.
